McIntosh House

About Us

McIntosh House, a lovingly restored 1891 Queen Anne Victorian, is ideally situated in the heart of Bayfield's Historic District, one block from downtown and across the street from the renowned Rittenhouse Inn. Enjoy the charm of a simpler era, gorgeous lake views, access to trails, Big Top Chautauqua shuttle service, and local farms and orchards. The house is ready for families and groups of all ages. The separate carriage house is perfect for remote work or an ''away space''.

Our home is loaded with extras to make your stay memorable. Top of the line appliances in the fully equipped kitchen make cooking a delight. A clawfoot tub in the upstairs bathroom waits to soothe your muscles. A gas fireplace keep everyone toasty. You'll love the beautifully crafted woodwork and stained glass windows throughout the house. Stunning views of Lake Superior and downtown from upstairs-don't miss the sunrise! The separate wood wrapped carriage house hosts an office space with huge desk, printer, office chair, skylight, gas fire insert and ROKU TV. There's also a single bed for a quiet nap (although overnight sleeping is not permitted per fire code). Outside you'll find front and back porches, a spacious deck and a Big Green Egg for grilling. Two parking spaces are available in the driveway.

No pets, no smoking. Three (winter) to four (remaining seasons) night minimum stay required.
