Summer Venue Merchandise Manager
If you appreciate great concert merchandise, enjoy in-person customer service and thrive working in an often fast-paced setting while being entertained with live music under the stars, you might be the ideal candidate to become a 2022 Season Merchandise Manager at Big Top Chautauqua. We are a non-profit performing arts venue that presents 60+ concerts each year including international headliners, regional talent, and original productions all in the heart of the beautiful Northwoods nestled near the shores of Lake Superior.
The Merchandise Manager is responsible for setting up, operating and closing down the tent-venue merchandise booth during scheduled performance dates. Other duties for this position include inventory tracking of apparel & gift items, restocking the venue merchandise booth, managing the sales process of guest artist’s merchandise during performances, acting as lead salesperson supervising volunteers scheduled help, and providing a friendly and welcoming experience for concert attendees. This position will communicate with guest artist merchandise management via email, phone and in person as needed. A keen eye for creative merchandise setup is a must, as well as being comfortable with working in a point- of-sale system.
Hours for this seasonal position typically range from 3:30 PM – closing, or 12:30 PM – closing when afternoon matinees are performed. Evening and weekend availability is required. Hourly compensation dependent on experience and availability.
