Operations Manager

Great opportunity for an ambitious self-starter at Mt. Ashwabay Ski and Recreation Area.  We are looking for a full-time Operations Manager to oversee its winter ski hill activities and summer recreation programs; along with the summer food and beverage service for the Big Top Chautauqua.

Position: Operations Manager
Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Operations Manager will be in charge of managing Ashwabay’s winter and summer ski hill operations.  
Run the ski hill’s winter and summer operations; including directing staff:  maintenance, lift operations, snow-making, grooming, food and beverage manager, etc. (including managing aspects of human relations, but not limited to payroll, hiring, and staffing decisions.)
Maintain current races and events and create new fundraising events. (Downhill, cross-country, mountain biking, etc.)
Manage and promote Mt. Ashwabay’s involvement with the community.
Actively participate in the developing the “Alliance” with Big Top Chautauqua.
Work with the Board to determine long-term goals and short-term strategic plans. 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to maintain financial responsibilities, including budgeting and overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping.
Facility and equipment maintenance knowledge and oversight of all aspects of ski hill operations.
Ability to work closely with and delegate responsibilities with the food and beverage manager and other staff.
Ability to be active and spend time outdoors.
Knowledge of outdoor recreation best practices.
Mt. Ashwabay offers a starting salary of $55,00-65,000, with the ability to negotiate based on experience and qualifications.
