Wisconsin’s Trumpeter Swan Recovery Program (ZOOM)
Sumner Matteson, WDNR conservation biologist and avian ecologist, has directed the Wisconsin Trumpeter swan recovery project for 25 years. Matteson’s April 8th Zoom presentation will detail this most successful conservation recovery project in Wisconsin's history, which began reintroducing trumpeter swans in 1989 after their extirpation in the 1880’s. This free event is hosted by the Friends of the North Pikes Creek Wetlands, a partner organization of the Lake Superior Collaborative, and co-sponsored by the Chequamegon Audubon Society.
