Swimming to 2.1 miles to Madeline Island from Bayfield has been a storied feat around the Bayfield area for decades.
Starting as a community swim for 24 people in 2006, Point to La Pointe has grown into a thriving community event which now hosts about 650 swimmers annually.
We were selected as one of the top swims in the United States by Open Water Source! We're honored by this distinction and will continue to improve and grow our event, which is now in its 17th year!
If you would like to support the swimmers on the day of the race, register for the SPECTATOR CRUISE.
Point to La Pointe is a fundraiser to support classes and programs, including swimming lessons and a swim team, at the Bayfield Rec Center.
