Invasive Species ID Day at Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center
Would you know the difference between a milfoil and wild parsnip? Garlic mustard and buckthorn? When it comes to conservation, the more you know, the more you can make a difference. At 1 pm, Jeremy Bates, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, will make a presentation “Northern Wisconsin Aquatic Invasive Species Identification and Management Options”. Jeremy will review aquatic invasive species in Northern Wisconsin with updates on new locations, current management efforts, and where we could use help. If you have a mystery plant growing in your yard, bring a fresh sample from 2-4 pm and have our botanists identify it for you! Tour the native wildflower gardens, see displays, and learn how to prevent the spread of invasive species. This event is FREE and open to the public. For more information please call Susan Nelson at (715) 685-2644 or Andy Teal at (715) 373-6167.
