Bayfield owes its existence to Lake Superior. Our maritime history is deep, covering stories from the first people who plied these waters and the fishermen, the pleasure boaters, the innovators and the workers.
The Bayfield Maritime Museum is open June through mid-September and has free admission.
Once in Bayfield, drive down Rittenhouse Ave toward the lake, turn right on First Street (the main corner), go 2 blocks south to the corner of First and Wilson. From the north, go straight on First.
