about us
Hurray! The snow is finally leaving the Orchard, and we will be able to get on with the work of a late Spring. There is brush to be picked up from the year's pruning and 150 new trees to be planted in the next few days.
At this point we are anticipating a great cherry crop. The blossoms are nearly ready to pop and they are abundant. Of course, there are many hurdles to jump before the crop is ready to harvest. We worry about a temperature that falls below 28 degrees and hail that could damage the blossoms. It is also important that the blossoms are pollinated, and utilize both honey bees and bumble bees for that purpose.
We will update this as the season progresses, and hope to be picking those wonderful sweet cherries in July. We hope to see you then.
