Captain Gordon Ringberg will share what he has learned about the nationality, design, and history of some of the magnificent sloops that have plied the waters of Lake Superior since 1734.

Captain Gordon Ringberg is an accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience centered on the marine industry.
Practical, detail-oriented and with a sharp analytical mind, his career has advanced through positions as deckhand, first mate, charter captain, yacht designer, marine surveyor, marine claims adjuster, marine risk analyst, and marina manager. He is currently a senior marine underwriter for Markel, and the Mayor of the City of Bayfield. He volunteers as president of the non-profit Lake Superior Tall Ships, and is deeply involved with the local Sea Scouts.
A thoughtful, caring and calm servant leader, Gordy strives to make a positive difference in the lives of others by sharing his knowledge, skills, experience, and his love of sailing.
