Built from Wisconsin's great white pine forest and Lake Superior brownstone, Bayfield's buildings tell a fascinating story of pioneers, adventurers, lumberjacks, fishermen, bankers, merchants and frontier lawmakers. A sturdy mix of peoples including East Coast Yankees, French voyagers, Native American and immigrants from many lands left their stamp on the land. Your guide, Sven, has many an entertaining tale to tell on your walk thru town. Cameras are welcome. The walk is about an hour and 20 minutes and travels less than a mile.
