This workshop is for all levels of aspiring artists of the landscape and the still life, who have some experience working in pastels, oils or water media.
Join Albert Handell in this exciting 5 day indoor/outdoor painting workshop. You will see and learn what to select and emphasize and what to play down or even take out of your paintings in order to make a strong design statement, and work sensibly towards finish.
It will be an opportunity to see how a Master Artist works in a studio setting to perfect his outdoor studies and bring life to his photographs. Albert will do three morning demo’s using pastels, a mixture of watercolor underpainting and pastels, and oils with a palette knife application.
Students will be painting on location in the afternoons. Albert will give individual help to each artist at the easel. There is also a daily critique at the end of the day at the location site; you are welcome to paint in the medium of your choice.
Oil Painters, if you have some oil paintings you have not finished, and seem to be stuck and/or confused as to how to continue. The third morning Albert will be demonstrating in oils. – Please bring a few to the studio; not more than 6 to 8, and make sure they are completely dry and unframed. Albert will then choose from the selection brought in so he can demonstrate the two techniques of glazing and scumbling. These techniques are certainly eye opening!
